BIG ED BOWL 2020
EVENT UPDATE
Dear valued Big Ed Bowl Supporters:
Because we are a SAFETY-FIRST organization, I regret to inform you that we are taking the difficult decision of canceling the 2020 Big Ed Bowl. We are making this decision in response to the COVID-19 virus, and because your health and safety are of utmost importance to us.
Sponsorships and event tickets have always been in-kind donations made payable directly to either Michael J. Fox Foundation or the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center at Northwestern University. We don't want these organizations to suffer because of the event’s cancellation; so, we are asking that you consider honoring your 2020 contributions. The money we raised to date is going toward two exceptional organizations and their remarkable research into finding cures for melanoma and Parkinson's. If, however, you would like a refund of your pledge, please contact Shelby Kroeger at kroeger@theljc.com.
Additional communication with our sponsors, ticket owners, donators and vendors will follow in the next several days, so please be patient with our team as we attempt to connect with you. In the meantime, should you have questions, please feel free to reach out to Megan Ruehle at info@bigedbowl.com
While canceling this event is unprecedented, know that we are committed to our fundraising and you can still make a donation to MJFF at https://fundraise.michaeljfox.org/big-ed-bowl-2020/Donate/Tickets and NWU at wewill.northwestern.edu/BigEdBowl2020
Also, we are determined to host you next year. Please save February 17, 2021, for next year’s event.
We thank you for your patience and understanding and continued Big Ed Bowl support.
Onward,

WHAT WE DO
Big Ed Bowl is an annual A/E/C fundraising event. Each year raises money to directly benefit Northwestern University Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center and the Michael J. Fox Foundation.
Why we do it
Cancer touches all of our lives and affects those closest to us. Melanoma specifically accounts for 7 percent of new cancer cases in men, and 5 percent of new cancer cases in women. There are more people diagnosed with skin cancer each year in the U.S. than all other cancers combined. Your donation to the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center of Northwestern University helps supports the research to find a cure.
Five million people worldwide are living with Parkinson's disease a chronic, degenerative neurological disorder. In the US alone 60,000 new cases are diagnosed annually. There is no known cure for Parkinson's disease. Your support of The Michael J. Fox Foundation can help change this.
The Michael J. Fox Foundation is dedicated to finding a cure for Parkinson's disease through an aggressively funded research agenda and is ensuring the development of improved therapies for those living with Parkinson's today.
